About

We are an independent, voluntary organisation of African wildlife professionals with a mission to educate and inform the public about issues surrounding the sustainable management of our wild areas. We provide advice to tourists visiting the bush on safari, and support to those people wanting to start a career in African wildlife conservation.

This is the only website on the internet offering truly independent, unbiased, professional advice by field guides, game rangers, zoologists, conservationists and other qualified persons. We are not affiliated to a commercial tourism operator and our primary goal is education and to raise funds and awareness for the charities and research projects that we support.

We encourage sustainable tourism and responsible guiding, and we hope to promote this ethic throughout the professional guiding sector. We believe that field guides should not only educate their guests about the fauna and flora of Africa, but also raise their awareness about the issues of protecting Africa’s wild habitats for the generations to follow.

Through our online community, we offer an interactive way for the public to ask questions and seek advice about issues relating to the African bush, from discussions about wildlife to what it’s like working and living in the African wilderness. Whether you are planning a safari, going into a career of conservation work or already working out in the bush, we’ll look forward to seeing you in our discussion forums.
