Our online community is a unique way for the public to interact with wildlife professionals out in the field.

Whether you are visiting Africa on safari and would like some guidance about what to take or what to expect, or whether you are interested in joining a volunteer project or training as a game ranger or guide, we hope to provide you with the advice and support you need.

The community is composed of two sections - the forums in which you may have interactive discussions with our members and other forum users, and the blogs where you can read about the life of a field guide, game ranger, zoologist and related professions. You may also donate funds directly to the conservation projects our friends and colleagues are working on, as a way to ensure the continued protection and sustainability of Africa’s fauna and flora.

The Elephant Research Project

In the depths of the Okavango Delta, the Elephant Research Project at Seba Camp is working with the government of Botswana in the study of elephants and how best to manage them. Please visit their website for more details and to donate to their cause.

The Wilderness Foundation

Founded by Dr. Ian Player, a former Game Ranger of the Kwa-Zulu Natal Parks Board, The Wilderness Foundation seeks to conserve wildlife within South Africa's game reserves, and to protect and assist the local communities living in and around those areas.

The Lajuma Leopard Research Project

In the Soutpansberg Mountains in South Africa, biologist Ian Gaigher and his team at The Lajuma Research Centre are studying the local wild leopard populations and consulting local farmers about how best to manage these wild cats so that man, domestic animals and leopards can live peacefully side by side.
